Sending Messages to Suppliers

Community Administrators and Community Supplier Administrators can communicate directly with suppliers within Unimarket. All messaging history is archived on the supplier's profile, to ensure a transparent audit trail between the community and the vendor.

 

How Replies Work

  • Initial Message: Sent from the logged-in user’s email address.

  • Supplier Replies via Unimarket: If the supplier responds by adding a comment in the portal, the notification is sent to the address defined in your Community profile settings.

  • Supplier Replies via Email: If the supplier replies directly to the notification email, the message will go directly to the individual user’s inbox.

  • Comment messages within Lite Supplier profiles:

    • Will not be visible to the Supplier; even if converted to a Registered profile.

    • Will not be sent to the supplier.

 

Messaging an Individual Supplier

Use this method for specific inquiries or direct communication with a single vendor.

  1. Navigate to the Administration module > Suppliers > Manage Suppliers tab.

  2. Locate the supplier using the Search field or Filters.

 

  1. Click on the supplier's name to open their profile and select the Comments tab.

  2. Click +Add Comment.

  3. Enter your message in the Add Comment pop-up box and select Send.

 

Sending Messages to Multiple Suppliers (Bulk Change)

The Bulk Change feature allows you to send a single announcement or update to many suppliers simultaneously.

  1. Navigate to the Administration module > Suppliers.

  2. Click Export and select Bulk Change.

 

  1. Select the desired suppliers from the list.

Note: Lite Suppliers will appear greyed out. Even if the checkbox is selected, messages will not be sent to them. Because Lite suppliers do not have a Unimarket portal to log into or a managed profile to receive these comments.

  1. Scroll to the bottom and click Continue.

  2. Ensure Create Comment is selected, then click Continue.

 

  1. Type your message in the Comment field and click Continue.

 

  1. Review & Finish: Review your message on the final screen. Select Back to edit or Finish to send the message to all selected suppliers.

     

Viewing Message History

To review the conversation history for any supplier:

  1. Open the supplier's profile via the Manage Suppliers tab.

  2. Select the Comments tab.

  3. All sent messages, bulk comments, and supplier replies (made within Unimarket) will be listed here chronologically.
