Contract - Counterpart Tab

  • Updated

The Counterpart tab is the first step in creating a contract. It identifies the supplier, individual, or entity with whom the agreement is made. Properly linking a counterpart ensures that the contract can be correctly matched to future Purchase Orders and Invoices.

Accessing the Counterpart Tab

This tab appears automatically when you select Create Contract from the Contracts module or click Create on the Contracts view screen.

  4. Additional Contacts: If you need to add more people to this counterpart, click +Add Counterpart Contact.
  5. Management: You can Edit or Delete these contacts as needed before finalizing.

For Non-Unimarket Suppliers

  3. Fill in the relevant contact information in the pop-up box.
  4. Click Add to save the contact to the record.

Amending the Counterpart

The ability to edit the supplier on an existing contract depends heavily on the Start Date:

Scenario Editing Capability
Future Start Date You can fully edit the supplier. You can change the selected supplier in the dropdown or update manual details.
Past Start Date Restricted. If the supplier was selected from the dropdown list, the field is locked and cannot be changed. If the supplier was entered as free text, it remains editable.

IMPORTANT:

Locked Suppliers: Once a contract has started, Unimarket locks the link to a system supplier to maintain data integrity for any Purchase Orders that may have already been linked to that agreement.
