To update your Unimarket Demo environment to match your Production (Prod) environment, follow the structured steps below.
This process involves exporting data from Production and importing it into Demo to ensure consistency across account codes, users, and approval workflows.
Important Note on Approval Processes
Administrators can update most settings, but the Process on the Approvals tab must be updated by Unimarket.
Action: Once you have completed all other steps, notify Unimarket Support. So they can request your Account Manager to update the process on the backend.
Step 1: Account Code Format
Export (Prod):
Administration>Settings>Management>Account Codes. Click into the code, select More Actions, and then Download.Import (Demo): Navigate to the same location in Demo and select More Actions > Upload.
Step 2: Organizations (Org Units)
Export (Prod):
Administration>Organizations. Select More Actions > Download Org Units.Import (Demo): Navigate to the same location in Demo and select More Actions > Upload Org Units.
Step 3: Buyer Groups
Update (Demo):
Administration>Users>Buyer Groupstab.Modify: Use +Add Buyer Group to add missing groups or click Delete to remove groups that should not exist in Demo.
Step 4: Users
Export (Prod):
Administration>Users. Stay on the Users tab and click Export.Import (Demo):
Administration>Users>Upload Userstab.Select Download Template, for the User Upload template to insert user information from Prod export file (Note: For upload details and requirements, click Download Specification).
Missing User Action:
Disable (set as default): Deactivates users in Demo, who are not in the upload file.
Ignore: Leaves existing Demo users alone, if they aren't in the file.
Click Browse to upload your updated file.
Step 5: Approvals Configuration
Navigate to Administration > Approvals and update the following tabs:
5a. Levels: Review the levels in both environments. If you need to add levels in Demo, it is recommended to delete existing levels and start fresh , adding them from the lowest dollar amount to the highest.
5b. Groups: Use the three dots icon to Download Groups from Prod and Import Groups into Demo.
5c. Chains: Use the three dots icon to Download Chains from Prod and Import Chains into Demo.
- 5d. Rulesets: Ensure all Ruleset names in Demo match Prod; add missing ones in Demo via the Add Ruleset icon.
- Click into each ruleset individually in Prod, select More Actions > Export Rules.
- In Demo, click into the matching ruleset, select More Actions > Import Rules, and attach the corresponding file.
