Once a buyer submits a requisition, it is routed for approval based on the community's configuration, which primarily utilizes either the buyer's Organization Unit (Org Unit) or the Account Codes used on the requisition.
Approval Routing Methods

| Org Unit | Each buyer is tied to one or more Org Units, which are linked to one or more approval chains with tiered approval hierarchies. The approval is sent to the correct users in the approval chain based on the required approval amount. If multiple chains exist, the buyer selects the appropriate one during requisition creation. |
| Account Code | Approvals can also be driven by the Account Codes used on the requisition lines, where the Account Codes are tied to a specific approval chain. The approval is routed according to the codes used and the required approval amount. |
Self-Approval Level
Buyers may be assigned a self-approval level in their user profile by a Community Administrator or User Administrator. This level determines whether the requisition requires external approval:

Note: Buyers can also be set up with no self-approval level, in which case all requisitions will be sent for delegated approval.
Final Approval Outcomes
Upon Approval: Once the requisition is fully approved, the purchase order will automatically be sent to the supplier, and the buyer will be copied into the order email.
Upon Decline: If the requisition is declined, the buyer will receive an email notification that includes the reason provided by the approver.
Configuration Note: Depending on the community's configuration, approval could be required for the entire requisition or for individual lines. Line-level approval may require multiple approvals on the entire requisition.
