Change to Approval Hierarchy Management
*Please note that this change only applies to customers managing their approval chains within Unimarket. It does not apply to customers managing their chains via integration.
We have made a change to the Approval Management screens to make the process of managing approval chains easier to understand for customers managing the chains within Unimarket. This change also allows a community to define many chains for any given OrgUnit.
We have replaced the tree hierarchy view with a flatter structure of chains and introduced the ability to extract and upload your chains via CSV file. Please see below for an overview.
Creating and Maintaining Chains
The Chains tab displays a list of chains which each have a name. As a starting point we have made the names the same as your existing OrgUnits, however over time you may wish to change these to something more meaningful.
The members of a chain can be seen by clicking on the chain name and you can edit the members of a chain by clicking on the Edit link. This allows you to add and remove people or groups from the chain (as before).
Adding Chains to Org Units
Once you have your chains defined you can go to the Org Units tab to associate the chains to the Org Units. This process is similar to before however if needed you may associate more than one chain with an Org Unit.
Please note that if you have more than 1 chain to an Org Unit, then the user will be asked to choose the correct chain during checkout.
Managing Chains Using the CSV Extract and Upload
You can also manage chains using the CSV extract and upload process. Start by extracting your existing chains via the Download Approval Chains link. Open the CSV in Excel and either add in the approvers you require to an existing chain or add a new chain name with associated approvers. Use the approvers Username not their name. Once finished, save the CSV file and 'browse' and upload the file.
Assigning Approval Chains To GL Account Mapping
If you use GL account mapping you can assign a chain by going to Edit Pattern on the Process tab and selecting the chain name from the picklist.
